Britney Spears leaving X Factor in London

Britney Spears made her first UK television performance in four years Saturday on Simon Cowell’s talent show X Factor.

She performed her new single “Womanizer,” while the show’s five remaining contestants each sang a song of hers.

Asked to give advice to the aspiring singers, Spears said, “Just keep doing it.”

She also said her time in London was going great.

“I met so many different people,” she said. “I love being here in London - it’s awesome.”

On Thursday, Spears performed “Womanizer” at a German awards show. She hit the stage again on Friday for French TV show Star Academy.

Britney Spears: “The Whole Year Has Been a Hell of a Ride”

In January’s Glamour, Britney Spears opens up about her “crazy year,” her new album Circus and her future.

“The whole year has been a hell of a year for me,” she says, referring to her forced psychiatric hospitalizations, loss of custody of her two sons and infamous head shaving.

Recording her latest album Circus — which drops Tuesday on her 27th birthday — “has helped take my mind off certain things,” she says. “For me, my music is therapy.”

The singer — who made her first live performance Wednesday in Germany since her rocky 2007 MTV Video Music Awards stint — also admits she “didn’t know exactly where I stood with everyone” after the past year.

“When I received the awards and [the audience] stood for me, it showed me how much love is out there,” says Spears, who swept the 2008 MTV Video Music Awards.

Her life is calmer these days, she says.

“I don’t like going out. I hate clubs. I hate being around too many people,” the singer tells Glamour. “I love my home and staying in bed and watching Dancing With the Stars or reading a Danielle Steel novel. I’m kind of boring.”

She’s also been hitting the gym.

On her post-baby body, Spears says, “My body…completely changed [after giving birth], and I have had to work hard at getting it back.”

Mariah Carey dodged pregnancy rumors on ‘Ellen’

People are saying that you’re pregnant,” DeGeneres says.

“No, that’s OK,” Carey coyly replies.

Telling her she doesn’t have to answer, DeGeneres then tries to get Carey to take a sip of champagne.

But Carey tells her it’s “just fattening. That’s not champagne. You can’t have it on TV.

“I can’t believe you did this to me, Ellen,” she later adds. “This is peer pressure.”

DeGeneres then tells her, “let’s toast to you not being pregnant.”

Replies Carey, “Oh, my goodness! I can’t believe her! Why would we toast to that? How about to the future?”

Carey pretends to drink the champagne as she adds, “It’s too early for me. I only drink after 3 p.m.!”

“You’re pregnant,” DeGeneres flat-out tells her.

“I didn’t say that. No, no, no. My mother would be at home, like on the computer, like what are you talking about?” Carey replies. “We will let you know when we’re going to have a family.”

Britney: Sean Preston "Says The F-word Now"

Britney Spears may need to break out a bar of soap.

In the Dec. 11 issue of Rolling Stone, she says her sons Sean Preston, 3, and Jayden James, 2, already have potty mouths.

“They’re staring to learn words like ’stupid,’ and Preston says the F-word now sometimes,” Spears, 26, reveals.

“He doesn’t get it from us,” the singer stresses. “He must get it from his daddy [Kevin Federline]. I say it, but not around my kids.”

Every time she sees her boys, “I think about how they’re such special people.

Her boys “are almost like twins,” she continues. “They both take care of each other. I think they look like me.

As a mother of two, Spears — who currently has two visits and an overnight per week with her children — says she feels like “an old person now. I do! I go to bed at, like, 9:30 every night, and I don’t go out or anything.”

She also says her new album, Circus (out Dec. 2), offers some insight into her hectic, controlled world.

One unnamed cut is “about artistic expression and the masquerade of people acting and putting on shows,” she says.

“Through that, you create your own world. The song talks about how other people are coming into this girl’s world, but she didn’t invite them in,” Spears explains. “So she’s saying, ‘Why are you here, if I didn’t invite you?’

“It’s complicated,” she says, “but you can tell it’s me who wrote it, because it’s in my voice and there’s a difference.”

Though she penned the tune, Spears admits that “it’s scary to put yourself out there and be like, ‘Oh, God, is that cool?’

“If you’re not going to really go for it, you can’t just go there halfway,” Spears says. “But sometimes, when you go for it, you can’t lose.”

Pete Wentz talks about fatherhood.

Being in the delivery room shortly before Ashlee Simpson gave birth Nov. 20 was “pretty surreal,” Pete Wentz says in his first interview since welcoming son Bronx.

“Obviously, some stuff my wife would freak if I said, but she’s pretty much a saint,” he said Tuesday on Ryan Seacrest’s KIIS-FM radio show. “Right before she went into labor, I was like, ‘Oh my God, I think I’m having a heart attack!’

“Natural things start going on in your body,” Wentz went on. “My heart started beating really fast.”

He explained, “You seen your wife in all this pain, and you really don’t know what’s happening.”

But Ashlee “took care of me and made sure I was OK and then we went into labor,” Wentz told Seacrest. “That’s why she’s a saint.

“She’s a amazing girl. She was like, ‘I will make sure you’re OK,’” he added. “I didn’t even stop to think, ‘Well, you just had an epidural and you’re about to have a baby!’”

When she had the baby, Wentz said that Ashlee remarked, “‘He’s beautiful. He’s perfect.’

“We were instantly in love,” he said of the boy. “It’s impossible not to be!”

He said his wife is doing “really good” right now.

See how Ashlee Simpson’s style has changed over the years.

Wentz said he’s changed “quite a few” diapers already - even some “exploding” ones.

As friends and family flock to get their first glimpse of Bronx, Wentz said,
“Having a child is like opening a new spot in L.A. — everyone’s trying to get in every night!”

Eventually, the Fall Out Boy bassist said Bronx “is definitely going to come out on tour. We need a whole team of stuff that is going to get him through that.”

As for the unique moniker, Bronx Mowgli?

He said he and Ashlee had been “throwing it back and forth a while ago. I feel weird because all these people have all these ideas on what it means … I don’t think anyone knows the real story of why or how.”

[Jungle Book] author Rudyard Kipling is “really cool and The Jungle Book is something that me and Ashlee bonded over,” Wentz explained.

Of fatherhood, he also noted, “It’s different when it happens. Your life is 100 percent different now - you want it to be different.”

Britney Spears NEW Rolling Stone cover!

She looks beautiful!

Nearly a year after a breakdown, Britney Spears says she feels as if she has matured.

To be exact, “I feel like an old person now,” she says in Rolling Stone’s next issue, out Friday. “I do! I go to bed at, like, 9:30 every night, and I don’t go out or anything.”

Spears turns 27 on Dec. 2, the same day her album, Circus, hits stores. “This is going to be the album that cements her legend status,” says her manager, Larry Rudolph.

Indeed, the pop star has come a long way from her two trips to hospital psychiatric wards this year, the magazine says. After the last trip, in early February, her father, Jamie, filed for legal conservatorship so that he and attorney Andrew Wallet would oversee her finances and personal affairs.

Interviewing the star is a “rigorously micromanaged process,” according to Rolling Stone.

“We were never left alone together, and my questions had to be submitted ahead of time for approval,” reporter Jenny Eliscu writes.

Rudolph says, “Her job is to be Britney Spears, and unfortunately, that job bleeds into her personal life and creates this odd situation where she needs to have security people around her all the time.”

That goes for dates, too. Recently, Spears was accompanied by her assistant, Brett, and Rudolph’s colleague, Adam Leber. “Right when we got there, we just knew it was just bad,” Spears says. “He looked like an older version of Harry Potter, but skinnier. … So I had to get dessert first. And the other date I had, the guy was really, really tall and a lot older. … We’re trying to ask him questions, like, ‘OK, you’re into martial arts, so what kind of martial arts are you into?’ And he was like, ‘Oh, all kinds.’ … But you know how silly we are, so we were just cracking up.”

She turns serious on the topic of her children. Despite losing custody of her sons, Preston, 3, and Jayden, 2, to her ex-husband Kevin Federline, Spears has been able to see them more often, thanks in part to the conservatorship.

“Every time they come to visit me, I think about how they’re such special people,” she says.

She is critical of her ex and says the children “are starting to learn words like ’stupid,’ and Preston says the f-word now sometimes. He doesn’t get it from us. He must get it from his daddy. I say it, but not around my kids.”

Hollywood Bodyguards Tell All!

The tough guys who protect the stars know all their scandalous secrets!

In the Dec. 8 issue of Star, bodyguards who kept tabs on celebs including Britney Spears, Angelina Jolie, Nicole Richie and Mary-Kate Olsen expose secrets about eating disorders, backseat strip shows, x-rated text messages and tantrums.

For instance, although Britney’s gearing up for a comeback, she’s still a seriously sick girl who lives in a fear-filled fantasy world and is now in the grip of a dangerous eating disorder, the people who were paid to protect her. A source close to one of her bodyguards tells Star that her Brit’s diet consists mostly of “Taco Bell and turkey jerky washed down with Red Bull.”

And she often doesn’t keep it down.

“She throws up after meals, both at home and at restaurants,” says the insider, “and she isn’t very discreet about it. People around her think she’s bulimic.”

The pop star who has a history of battling that eating disorder, is also “taking diet pills,” according to another insider close to Britney’s employees. “They’re like diuretics. She has to go to the bathroom constantly. It just runs right through her. And everyone knows she still throws up when she’s eaten too much. You can smell it in the bathroom.”
