Actress Brittany Murphy dead at 32

LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- Brittany Murphy died on Sunday morning, a spokesperson for the Los Angeles County Coroner's Office has confirmed to Access Hollywood. She was 32.

According to the Coroner's Office, Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Hollywood reported to them that an individual named Brittany Murphy died in the hospital on Sunday.

A Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman told Access that they responded to a 911 call made from the 1800 block of N. Rising Glen Road -- the same street where the actress lives -- at 8 AM on Sunday. According to TMZ, the actress was pronounced dead upon arrival at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.

A rep for the actress also confirmed the news, telling Access Hollywood, "In this time of sadness, the family thanks you for your love and support. It is their wish that you respect their privacy."

Just weeks ago, a smiling Brittany spoke with Access at the Tt Collection Pop-Up Party in LA on December 3, where she discussed her hopes for the coming year.

"As far as having a New Year's resolution, I'd love to have a child next year," she said at the time. "But that's kind of a large one!"

The actress also spoke of her love for her family, whom she said she was very close to.

Nicole Richie Hospitalized for Pneumonia

Nicole Richie has been admitted to the hospital.

"Nicole has checked into Cedars-Sinai, where she is being treated for pneumonia," a rep for the star, 28, told Usmagazine.com Wednesday.

Continued the rep, "She is doing well."

Richie was too sick to attend the Nov. 10 launch of her House of Harlow jewelry line at Bebe in Los Angeles.

She and beau Joel Madden are parents to two-month-old son, Sparrow, and daughter Harlow, 22 months.

After nearly one year of dating, Carrie Underwood says she has no plans to move in with hockey player Mike Fisher.

Kris Jenner, along with Kim and Khloe Kardashian, threw Kourtney a baby shower yesterday in preparation for the new addition to their family, who is due next month.

"It was a huge success," a source tells PEOPLE of the shower, which began at noon and was organized by Los Angeles-based event planner Sharon Sacks, at the family's home in Hidden Hills, Calif.

Nearly 80 guests reportedly attended.

At the shower, guests nibbled on chocolate-covered strawberries from Studio City-based Berry Elegance, and while Kourtney loaded up on gifts, so did they! Each attendee received a Le Sport Sac weekender bag filled with We Pilates shirts and scarves; a bottle of Essie nail polish in a limited edition color called "Little Baby Dash" – a nod to the Kardashians' Dash stores – a hand-blown glass personal tea set from Primula; a gift card from Sheila Kelley S Factor, and an Alex & Ani expandable bracelet.

'Jon and Kate' Replaced by 'Cake Boss'

"Cake Boss" is officially replacing "Jon & Kate Plus 8," TLC has announced.

It begins airing in the reality family's Monday-night timeslot on Nov. 30.

The series finale of "Jon & Kate" will air Nov. 23. It will feature Jon and Kate sitting down "to provide new insights on their recent life events" and the future of their eight children, according to the New York Post.

The episode will also feature Kate and the kids at a dairy farm, and Jon with the children at a firehouse.

The Post reports that the final scene will be a montage of the show's five-season history set to music.

Jon halted production on the family's TLC series in October by barring cameras from taping his children. The network briefly renamed the show "Kate Plus 8." Jon and TLC have filed lawsuits against each other.

TLC is developing another show for Kate, the paper reports, and Jon was recently in talks with Michael Lohan to appear in a reality series called, "The Divorced Dads Club."

Celine Dion: No Longer Expecting A Baby

Celine Dion is no longer pregnant, according to a source close to the singer and her husband René Angélil.

“While she and Rene are actively trying for a baby, she is not currently expecting,” the friend revealed to In Touch Weekly.

In mid-August, Celine, 41, and René, 67, conceived with the help of fertility doctors in New York. The couple’s publicist announced the pregnancy news sharing that “They are crazy in love over the news.”

A rep for "CSI: Miami" star Eddie Cibrian tells "Extra" Life & Style Magazine has crossed the line by claiming he's cheating on LeAnn Rimes -- and he's going to take them to court.

Cibrian's rep tells "Extra" in a statement: "Unfortunately Life & Style Magazine has chosen to go out with a story filled with inaccuracies and deceitful lies, presumably to titillate sales, but clearly resulting in harm to Eddie Cibrian and others. This is irresponsible and wreckless journalism. Eddie has met with his attorneys and will be filing a suit for libel and other actionable grounds shortly. It's a shame that Life & Style resorted to a story of this nature and they will regretfully now have to face scrutiny of untruthful reporting in a court proceeding."

On Thursday, the magazine reported Cibrian recently started "seeing" an ex-girlfriend. Life & Style claimed Cibrian was bragging about hooking up with a "different" girl while shooting "CSI: Miami" in Florida, but the CBS series tapes in Manhattan Beach, Calif.

Nicole Richie Gets A Restraining Order Against Two Paparazzi

You know things are getting out of control when celebrities have to take it to this level! Nicole Richie obtained a restraining order against two paparazzi: Eduardo Arrivebene and Ivon Miguel. They have been ordered to stay 100 yards away from Nicole and her children, Harlow and Sparrow.

In her filing, Richie states that photographers Eduardo Arrivebene and Ivon Miguel daily "stalk" Richie and her family, and that they "sit outside my house, waiting for me to leave." She alleges that they "scream at me in an attempt to get my reaction, scare me, follow me, chase me in [their] vehicle," causing her "severe emotional distress."

What makes them different from all the other paparazzi, though? They reportedly rear-ended Nicole earlier this month. That's going WAY too far.

"I am fearful that [their] continued presence may cause yet another accident, this time with my infant children in the vehicle," Richie adds. She says that even after the accident, the pair continued to pursue her.

Hopefully this will send a message that there are LIMITS to what the paparazzi can do to get their pictures!

Kate Gosselin Says She Hasn't Received Money From Jon

And here we go. Yesterday, Jon Gosselin's attorney said Jon had returned the money (although he declined to say the exact dollar amount) to their joint banking account. Well, Kate's attorney said they haven't received the money.

So far only $28,500 has been returned, says Kate's lawyer, but at 1:23 p.m. he received an email from Jon's Pennsylvania attorney saying he had the remaining $152,000 he owes.

"We still haven't had that money wired to us," he told PEOPLE. "I have no doubt Jon's lawyer is making an accurate representation but I'm just waiting."

Kate's attorney said his client was only ordered to account for money she had spent.

"Kate has complied with the court order in advance of the date," he says, noting the reality mom was not ordered to return any money.

So much for keeping things private. In other news, Jon's rep denied that he was considering competing on either 'Survivor' or 'The Amazing Race.'

Nick Lachey "Upset" About Jessica Simpson's Dog

Nick Lachey is just as devastated as Jessica Simpson that their pooch was snatched by a coyote last month.

"I think a lot of people forget that Daisy was my dog too -- for years," Lachey, 35, who gifted the five-year-old maltipoo to his ex wife, 29, tells Access Hollywood.

Lachey -- who has been promoting his reverse auction site, Winnit.com -- admits he's been thinking about Simpson a lot after hearing about Daisy's fate.

"I didn't reach out to her," he says. "I'm sure she was upset ... I was upset ... It was sad to hear that happened, but it's part of the cycle of life."

After Simpson's pup was grabbed by the coyote near her Los Angeles home, she wrote on Twitter: "A coyote took my precious Daisy right in front of our eyes. HORROR! We are searching. Hoping. Please help!"

She also hired a professional dog finding service to contact 1,000 neighbors and offered a reward -- but called off the search within three days.

Tyler Perry Discusses Abusive Childhood

Tyler Perry explains why the movie 'Precious' moved him so much that he signed on as executive producer after seeing it at a film festival: because of his own experiences as an abused child.

"[A]s I child I always thought I would die before I grew up...

"My father came home, mad at the world," he writes. "He was drunk, as he was most of the time. He got the vacuum cleaner extension cord and trapped me in a room and beat me until the skin was coming off my back."

That's only one of the many horrific experiences Tyler recounts on his website. He also writes about watching his father beat his mother, his own experience being sexually abused by a friend's mother, and one time when his grandmother bathed him in ammonia.

Tyler wrote that any money he or Oprah Winfrey make from 'Precious' will be donated to charity and why he wants people to see this film.

Nicole Richie Taken to Hospital After Car Accident

Nicole Richie was being taken to a Los Angeles hospital on Monday after she was rear-ended by paparazzi, police confirm to PEOPLE.

"Ms. Richie was driving with a passenger around 2 p.m. when she was struck by two photographers driving in one vehicle behind her," said Lt. Tony Lee of the Beverly Hills Police. "She complained of pain, and her passenger is transporting her to a local hospital. Her car sustained moderate damage. No paramedics were called to the scene."

The driver who rear-ended Richie is being arrested and booked for being unlicensed because "officers could not verify his identification," Lt. Lee added. "He's being physically brought into the station. This will likely be a misdemeanor traffic violation, and the photographer's vehicle will be towed."

Richie's two children were not in the vehicle.

Nicole Richie Banged Up in Car Accident

TMZ has learned Nicole Richie was just involved in a car accident in Beverly Hills.

Law enforcement sources tell us Richie was rear-ended by a car driven by a paparazzo. We're told her kids were not in the car at the time of the crash.

Sources on scene say Richie is claiming she's in pain, but will not go to the E.R. -- instead she told authorities she will see her own private doctors.

We're told the driver of the other car is being cited for being an unlicensed driver and his car is being impounded.

Richie had an adult male passenger in the car -- no word on his condition.

In the continuing saga of LeAnn Rimes' relationship with Eddie Cibrian, his ex, Brandi Glanville, is now claiming that Rimes is "invading my space."

Brandi dished to Us Weekly, "I have a new neighbor and her name is LeAnn Rimes. She's moved in a half a mile from my house and a block from my son's school. So she is completely space-invading me at the moment, so things are not cool," said Glanville from the anniversary celebration of TAO/LAVO in Las Vegas. "There is a point where she needs to have a sensitive side and back the F up."

Glanville, 34, is irate that she's been spotting LeAnn around her neighborhood -- and even in front of her son Mason's school. "Honestly, she's Single White Female-ing me. She wants my life," Glanville rants. "She wants my kids. She wants my husband. She can have most of everything, but just not my children or my family."

The model mom has two children with Cibrian, and added, "We definitely save face for the kids, absolutely. They're the most important thing in both of our lives."

Brandi and Eddie called it quits in July, after months of rumors that Cibrian was cheating on Glanville with Rimes.

Newlyweds Christina Milian and her rapper husband, The Dream, have just confirmed to People magazine that they are expecting.

"My husband and I are expecting," she told PEOPLE Friday night. "We're about four and a half months along, about 19 weeks. We are really excited."

This is the first child for both parties. The couple were married nearly a month ago. At the time of the wedding there was speculation that a pregnancy was the reason for the engagement, but Christina says that the engagement was planned for a while.

David Letterman's Extortion, Sex Shockers

"Late Night" host David Letterman announced tonight that he was the victim of an extortion plot -- and had a sexual relationship with at least one of his employees.

A statement distributed by Letterman's reps claims that three weeks ago, David received a package from someone who told him they had information about Letterman's sexual relationship with one of his employees. The caller then threatened to go public with the alleged information unless the comedian forked over $2 million.

Letterman contacted the Manhattan District Attorney's Special Prosecution Bureau, who set up a sting operation. The operation included David handing a fake check to the individual, who was arrested on Thursday.

During the show, Letterman confessed to the audience that he had to testify in front of a grand jury this morning -- and that he had to admit he had sexual relations with his staffers. "My response to that is, yes I have. Would it be embarrassing if it were made public? Perhaps it would," Letterman said. "I feel like I need to protect these people -- I need to certainly protect my family."

A spokesperson for Letterman declined to comment further.

Khloe Kardashian to Wed Within the Next Two Weeks!

Khloe Kardashian plans to wed beau Lamar Odom, a forward on the Los Angeles Lakers, after about a month of dating, Usmagazine.com has confirmed.

"Khloe and Lamar want to get married before Lamar has to go away for training, and the [basketball] season starts up [this fall]," a source tells Us of Kardashian, 25, and Odom, 29, who met at a party in L.A.

"They are hoping to pull together a wedding within the next two weeks so they can get married and have time for a honeymoon," continues the source. "They haven't decided where they will say 'I Do,' but they are scouting out numerous locations, including Khloe's family home in Calabasas, [Calif.]."

Earlier this month, Odom gushed to Us that he was "very happy" with the star of Kourtney & Khloe Take Miami.

Swayze Dies at 57

Patrick Swayze has died after a brave battle with pancreatic cancer. He was 57 years old.

The actor was born in Houston, Texas on August 18, 1952 -- son of choreographer/dancer Patricia "Patsy" Yvonne Helen and Jesse Wayne Swayze, an engineering draftsman. Swayze began dancing at a very young age, but didn't make his acting debut until 1979 in his role as Ace in "Skatetown, U.S.A."

His big break came in 1987 when he played dance instructor Johnny Castle opposite co-star Jennifer Grey in "Dirty Dancing." The low-budget film became a surprise hit and catapulted Swayze to international fame. Patrick snagged a Golden Globe nod for his role in the movie, and displayed his singing chops on the soundtrack by crooning "She's Like the Wind," which he also co-wrote. Swayze achieved box office success again -- along with another Golden Globe nod -- in 1990's "Ghost," co-starring Demi Moore and Whoopi Goldberg.

Patrick also starred in the cult classic "Point Break" in 1991 -- the same year he was named People magazine's "Sexiest Man Alive."

Swayze met his wife Lisa Niemi in 1970 -- when the actor was only 18 and she began taking dance lessons from Swayze's mother. They fell in love and married in 1975 --- and were inseparable.

During the '80s and '90s, Swayze struggled with alcohol addiction. In 1994, he entered rehab and took a break from show business to breed horses on his ranches in California, Las Vegas and New Mexico.

The actor was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in January 2008, and began undergoing chemotherapy and other cancer treatments at Stanford University Medical Center. He was reportedly a heavy smoker.

During the summer of 2008, following treatment, Patrick defied all odds by filming "The Beast," an A&E series about a veteran FBI agent. The show premiered in 2009 on USA.

Swayze is survived by his wife of 34 years.

Kate Gosselin: "I've Lost Control in My Life"

Kate Gosselin wishes she could go back to being a regular mom.

At Ohio's second annual Cleveland Women's Show on Friday, the reality mom of eight, 34, told a crowd of mostly women, "I've lost a lot of control in my life."

She later went on, "At the beginning of all of this, you've heard me say before, I didn't want fans gawking, I didn't want people gawking, I just wanted to be myself, my family.

"I have learned, I appreciate your support, I need you, I love you, thank you."

Before exiting the stage, she also shared exercise and cooking tips with moms. But she stressed, "Moms don't just sit there cooking everyday and aren't always there to greet their kids at the school bus. Moms are as versatile as dads. If you're working you're also providing for your kids in a different way."

The evening's moment of comic relief came when a fan told Kate she wanted to offer babysitting services.

After being upstaged by Kanye West as she accepted her award for Best Female Video, Taylor Swift admitted to reporters that it had been an "interesting night."

"They told me to stand by the side of the stage, and I didn't really know what was going to go down," Taylor explained. "But I thought it was so wonderful and gracious of her to do what she's always done. She's always been a great person before anything else. Before the talented artist, the superstar, she's always been a great person and I thought I couldn't love Beyoncé more tonight, than tonight."

Now that's a serious health bill! That's how much Jon Gosselin claims he has spent on therapy. He says he tried to get estranged wife Kate Gosselin to go, but she refused, according to Us Weekly.

"I learned about myself. If she's not going to therapy, she's not going to fix herself, then it's not going to work. It takes two people," he says. "I have a $22,000 therapy bill. I mean, I tried to have marriage counseling. I did it myself. She refused to go."

Ambulance Responds to Gosselin Home

ET can confirm that an ambulance responded to the home of "Jon & Kate Plus 8" in Wernersville, PA on Saturday.

An officer from the Wernersville Police Department confirms to us that the ambulance responded after an elderly woman fell at the home.

Jon Gosselin later confirmed through his Twitter page that his grandmother had fallen in the driveway.

NFL Star Accused of Choking Tila Tequila

Shawne Merriman of the San Diego Chargers was taken into custody by the San Diego County Sheriff's Department after an alleged altercation with Tila Tequila.

San Diego Sheriff's deputies responded to a call this morning at 3:45 AM. Tila claims she was "choked and physically restrained" by Merriman after she tried to leave his residence.

Merriman is accused of battery and false imprisonment.

Tila was transported to a local hospital while Merriman was taken into custody. His bail was set at $58,000.

UPDATE -- Tila Tequila has been released from the hospital.

UPDATE -- A lawyer for Merriman denied all charges and says Tila was "extremely inebriated" and that Merriman tried to stop her from leaving the home because he didn't feel it was safe for her to do so.

UPDATE -- A.J. Smith, the general manager of the San Diego Chargers, released this statement: "It's disappointing to hear about the issue involving Shawne Merriman. We'll continue to monitor the situation and let the legal process run its course."

DJ AM FOUND DEAD IN NYC APARTMENT

he NY Post is reporting that DJ AM (Adam Goldstein) was found dead in his apartment on Lafayette Street in Manhattan today.

Sources said drug paraphernalia was found in the apartment.

Law enforcement sources tell us he was found in his apartment at around 5:20 PM. We're told drug paraphernalia was found at the scene. We're told DJ AM had not been seen or heard from for a few days -- one of his friends went to check on him, but got no response after knocking on his apartment door.

Pregnant Kourtney Kardashian revealed the identity of her baby's father on the Today show this morning: Scott Disick.

The E! reality star and Disick split in February, but recently reunited, Kourtney said.

"He's very excited. When I found out, I was so shocked. I didn't know what to do. He was so for it and so excited from the beginning. And we're really happy," Kourtney added.

When asked about marriage, Kourtney -- who is due in December -- said, "We'll see."

Seven VMA Nods: Crazy Britney Spears Being Lured as Ratings Bait Again?

It’s that time of the year again — last week nominations were released for MTV’s star-studded and notoriously controversial Video Music Awards. But who should score a whooping seven nods, including the top category for Video of the Year? Britney Spears, y’all.

The songstress will be up against 2009’s hottest acts, Beyonce and Lady Gaga for the coveted prize, prompting numerous industry insiders to question if she really deserved such a slew of nominations for her one and only music video this year, Womanizer, in which she suggestively caresses her seemingly naked body, photocopies her bottom after stomping around a corporate office in a black wig and gets raunchy in the back of a car in her secret-service inspired get-up.

“We were surprised she got so many nominations because she has been ‘lip synching’ and while she is talented, the terrain has changed so this may be sympathy nominations because she is getting well,” said a key industry insider. “Every network is hurting for eyeballs. Britney always draws an audience.”

But let’s not forget that it was because of the troubled Tinseltowner’s sedated-like opening performance in 2007 that the VMAs surged into a whole new ratings stratosphere.

“When I first saw it I started to panic,” an MTV advertising executive told Tarts at the time. “But I soon realized that this was great, it was obviously going to get a lot of attention around the world.”

Last year, Brit was ratings-gold for the VMAs (viewership was up 41 percent from two years prior) thanks to her over hyped ‘comeback’ - although this time she didn’t have to sing and dance, she just had to gratuitously accept three moonmen for her musical abilities. Interestingly, those three VMAs were the first Spears had ever won although she had previously received 16 nominations. Her 1999 debut album “Baby One More Time” remains the highest-selling album by a female pop artist of all time but even then she only scored three nominations.

So does Brit really now deserve seven nods or is MTV trying to not-so-subtly steer Spears back to the stage, for better or for worse?

Her former music producer and good friend, the Grammy winning Dallas Austin, even admitted she was quite “a singer.”

“Britney is very normal, very average. She’s fun, she likes to play games, it’s sad because Hollywood makes you into a person that you don’t want to be,” Austin told us. “She can sing, but it’s different than being a singer and a person who can sing. The average person can sing pretty much, you can sing along to it in the car and you’ll probably be in the same pitch. But then there’s people who can’t sing, and they’re tone deaf and they can’t hear the pitch that the song is in. That’s a different story. Britney Spears, Janet Jackson, Aaliyah - there are a lot of people with really great tones that aren’t going to sing like Celine Dion or Whitney Houston.”

As Britney Spears prepares to hit the road again next week for her second concert tour of North America in less than nine months, the pop superstar — and mother of two young sons— has managed to get her body looking the best it has since the days of “Ooops!… I Did It Again” and “I’m a Slave 4 U.” And Brit herself is thrilled with her own transformation.

A source tells OK! that Britney — who flaunted her toned physique in a barely there white Eres bikini for an Aug. 6 photo shoot in L.A. — is thrilled with her new figure.

“Britney used to hate her body when she looked in the mirror after having the boys,” a longtime pal of the singer tells OK!. “But last week she sent pictures home to [her mom] Lynne and wrote, ‘Look how good I look!’ ”

Melrose Place actor Ethan Erickson, who appears in Britney’s “Radar” music video and also worked on a Candie’s shoot with the performer, says she looked “dynamite” when they shot the company’s campaign several months ago. Of course, he’s even more impressed by her current bikini body. “I think the whole thing just screams, ‘I’m back,’ ” Ethan tells OK!.

The sexy mom of Sean, 3, and Jayden, 2, can credit her slamming new body in part to the Sunfare diet, a gourmet meal delivery company. Sunfare, which counts stars such as Eva Longoria Parker, Marcia cross and Khloe Kardashian among its fans, incorporates a balanced, low-carb approach of three big meals and two snacks per day, all documented through the delivery system.

“When Britney is on Sunfare, she consumes approximately 1,100 to 1,200 calories per day,” a source reveals to OK!.

The other major factor behind Brit’s renewed physique is good old-fashioned hard work in the dance studio and on stage.

“Her outlet is dance,” the longtime friend says. “She’s still dancing at least two hours a day and sometimes she’ll rehearse up to eight hours a day.”

Still, says another insider, “It didn’t come easy. It was a long, hard road. Britney dedicated herself in such a focused way. We are all so proud of her, not just for her physical achievements but also for her mental and emotional ones.”

While the E! reality star confirms she's pregnant with her first child, Ms. K isn't revealing too much right now. She's keeping mum on the daddy's identity and how far along she is.

Kourt, 30, refused to say if she and ex-boyfriend Scott Disick are back together. "You're going to have to see on the show," she said, referring to Kourtney and Khloé Take Miami, which debuts this Sunday.

Funny enough, the big question these days has been whether Kourtney has switched teams because of a kiss she shared with her bisexual friend Jackie during shooting of said reality show.

"I feel like I'm definitely into men," she said.

She's certainly proven that now.

Britney Spears hit the town for some shopping and outfit changes in Beverly Hills yesterday, showing off her extensions that maybe could use a little touching up. On Sunday, however, Britney looked fantastic in her tiny black dress as she took the stage as the Ultimate Choice at the Teen Choice Awards. Meanwhile, Britney's escort for the show is denying rumors that she ignored a badly behaved Sean Preston and Jayden James backstage. Despite the stories, Britney was all smiles as she tested out a few more dresses and hats to add to her collection.
