Review of the book Lead Me Home by Stacy Hawkins Adams

I really enjoyed this book. It took me almost 3 days to read it because I didn't realize how big the book actually was, most books I fly through and read fast but not this time.

This book is about a preachers wife named Shiloh who ends up getting a teaching job at her local high school and ends up mentoring students there and the students parallel with her life too. You see before Shiloh was a preachers wife she was out in the world and had unprotected sex and got pregnant and then had an abortion. And she also had at that time stole a girls future by see her and her roommate got put into a musical competition and she stole her roommates music and got the job instead of her roommate and her roommates life become terrible after that and so later on in the story Shiloh opens up and becomes honest with her family and friends about her previous life and they all end up forgiving her. And this is how her girl students life mirrored hers. Her student was a girl who had made into this musical program based on playing the flute and before deciding if she wanted to go there or not became pregnant. So Shiloh told her about her experience but then told the girl student to pray to GOD about her dilemma and make her own decision. Well before the girl could make her decision she lost her baby.  The whole point of the story is to always be forgiving our of sins as GOD did to us because as long as we are truly sorry for our sins and repent he forgives us and that in our life we might not always have a choice about what happens but that we if pray to GOD he will let it all work out.

I liked the quote at the end of the book that said this: GOD's blessings don't always come out in the package or the presence we expect; he sends them in ways so out-of-the-box that we're often left speechless".

Review of the book We laugh, We Cry, We Cook by Becky Johnson and Rachel Randolph

I really enjoyed this book. I read it all in one day. This book is about a family and there love for each other and for cooking. The book shares heartfelt stories and recipes. I especially liked the reciepe for chocolate pie.

All it takes to cook the pie is milk, sugar, cocoa, flour, egg yolks, vanilla and pie shells and then it tells you step by step instrucstions on how to bake this yummy pie. I cannot wait to make it myself.

I didn't really see this book as a Christian book but a book anyone could enjoy and wasn't really that religious to me in nature.It is more like a cookbook which I can learn from because right now I don't really cook and could learn to make more meals for my husband who right now does most of the cooking. He cooks really good stuff like tri-trip or fried chicken. I eat really bad food and I need to learn how to cook more healthy for my health. I am a bit overweight and could stand to lose a few pounds. I eat junk like ice-cream or cookies which is bad for me because I can't just eat one portion, I have to eat everyday which annoys my husband, which is he gets mad when I bring into the house because I will just eat it and there won't be any left for him. And plus when I eat icecream I get sick to my stomach so it defeats the purpose.

Kevin Jonas and Wife Danielle Expecting Their First Baby

Kevin and Danielle Jonas are about to become parents!

E! News confirms that Dani is pregnant with their first child.

"I was overjoyed," Kevin revealed exclusively to E! News' Giuliana Rancic via Skype upon learning about his wife's pregnancy. "It's been the most exciting thing in my life so far."

He added, "I'm excited and I'm nervous."

Mariah Carey rushed to hosp. after dislocating shoulder on video set

MARIAH Carey was rushed to hospital after dislocating her shoulder on the New York set of her latest video, Page Six has exclusively learned.

The superstar was rushed to New York’s Hospital for Special Surgery on the Upper East Side late last night to have her shoulder reset after she fell while filming a video for the remix of her song #Beautiful.

Carey’s spokeswoman Cindi Berger said, “Mariah was injured while filming a video for the remix of #Beautiful, directed by her husband Nick Cannon.

“She was taken to hospital late last night, where doctors reset her shoulder. She is fine and is recovering at home.”

The Mariah video was filmed at Avenue and Artichoke Pizza in Chelsea.

The songstress, who was at the center of the Macy’s July 4th celebrations, has created a new mix of her hit song, originally recorded with Miguel, with rapper Young Jeezy. The song is the lead single for her upcoming album “The Art of Letting Go”

Another source tells us that Mariah, 40, may have tripped and fallen on her trademark high heels while filming the video downtown on Sunday evening.

And we’re told that despite her painful injury, the Mariah will still appear at the free concert in Central Park’s Great Lawn on July 13 in a concert with Major League Baseball to benefit Hurricane Sandy Relief. A source added, “She will perform, but it is likely she will have her arm in a sling.”
