Review of the book Surfing for God by Michael John Cusick

For the most part I really enjoyed this book. It was an easy read and I read it in 2 days just chilling on my couch. This book is about people who struggle with pornography and how to help yourself get out of it.

I especially like the quote on page 4 which reads " a bible that's falling apart is usually  owned by someone who isn't." I like this quote because to have a fulfilling life we have to focus on what's important and that is GOD and his ministry and that GOD is real and you just have to call on him and depend on him to see that.

I like the quote on page 15 which says " When a husband and wife enjoy a healthy emotional, relational, and spiritual connection, most of the time good sex follows. " Spiritual needs should always come first in a relationship and the other stuff will come later once GOD sees we are putting him first and he blesses our efforts in many different aspects of our life.I also like the part on weakness which reads on page 45 " but no actual man, including Jesus, has ever lived without significant weakness. So what do we do? We fake it 'til we make it. We turn on the bravado. Develop a persona" . Often times we do our best to please everyone but people get hurt in the process and so we want everything to think we are ok and have it all together when in reality we are weak and hurting and sometimes need a shoulder to cry on.

I also like the quote on pate 76 which reads " sometimes we are all smoke and mirrors. Our shame can only be healed when we pull back the curtain and allow ourselves to be seen for who we really are." I like this quote because sometimes only GOD sees who we truly are and other people don't really know us and in order for us to be know by people we have to let our guard down. And see GOD knows us better than any one because we go to him in prayer and he can read our heart condition.

I really like the quote on page 85 which reads " We, too, can be oblivious to the danger of living with an ever-increasing accumulation of stress or conflict-until the temperature of lie puts us in danger". I just had another seizure and I think stress honestly caused it. I also like the quote on page 98 which reads " Jesus was asking us to be radical-do whatever it takes to avoid sin. Take drastic measures. If your computer is causing you to sin, get rid of it and son on. "

I like the chapter on rebooting on page 131. Sometimes our body and our brain needs to be rebooted and started over. Both times I had my seizure I was unware the entire time of what was going on. My husband later told me but I had no recollection of anything. I  think my body was so full of stress it had to reboot itself. My only complaint about this book was how the author said that Jesus and GOD are the same person and talked about the trinity which is false and not true at all. A good scripture to prove that is John 14:28 which reads " Jesus said if you loved me, you would have rejoiced, because I go to the Father; for the Father is greater than I.  Anyway there are more good scriptures but this a long review and I am done for now.

The Chopped host accidentally "outed" Ann in a radio interview, by saying:

Britney Spears' X Factor Stint Will Be Short-Lived?

While her new X Factor mentor role seems to be fitting her just right, it seems Britney Spears won’t be sticking around forever!

Reportedly, the pop princess has only signed on for the show for ONE year with her $15 million contract!

A source recently spilled:

"The judge handling Britney's conservatorship wanted to make sure that this wasn't going to be too stressful or grueling for her and that weighed heavily in the negotiations. Britney's doctors felt comfortable with a one season commitment, remember, she is still under a conservatorship, meaning she can't make any business or personal decisions herself.”

Probably a smart move…we definitely wouldn’t want Brit Brit to overwork herself or overpromise and not follow through!

Another insider added:

“Britney's contract does have an option for a second year, but Britney isn't committed under terms of the agreement to come back for another season if she doesn't want to, both sides have to agree to this.”

Better safe than sorry, we suppose??

Britney is already MORE than ready to prove the critics wrong and has been reportedly asking Simon Cowell for tips on how to be the “best judge possible.”

Miranda Lambert’s Advice to Women: “Rock Your Curves!”

Miranda Lambert graces the cover of the June issue of Self Magazine and is proudly telling women everywhere to ‘rock your curves.’ Miranda shared her candid thoughts on being thin, what she eats on the road and why husband Blake Shelton might be a little scared of her in her latest interview.

“I don’t care about being stick-thin,” she said. “I don’t want stuff to jiggle. Really skinny actresses make me hungry—I see them and think, ‘Honey, you need to eat!’ I’m lucky I don’t have to live like that. I feel my best when I’m a toned, not flabby, size 8. Women come up to me and say, ‘You’re beautiful and confident, and that makes me feel I can be, too.’”

But even Miranda has posed the question many wives have asked their husbands. “I asked Blake, ‘Dude, why didn’t you tell me I got fat?’” she said. “He said, ‘That would go over like a lead balloon. It’s not my job to tell you you’re fat. It’s my job to tell you you’re beautiful.’”

With a hectic touring schedule, it would be easy for Miranda to fill up on backstage pizza and fast food. Instead, she reaches for something a little more green after shows and keeps her bus void of tempting treats. “I always scarf down food after a show,” she said. “But now, instead of eating a burger, I’ll have a grilled-chicken salad waiting for me. And except for almonds and bananas, I don’t keep snacks on the bus. I don’t want Cheetos anywhere around me.”

When it comes to Blake, Miranda acknowledged that their busy careers keep them apart a lot. But she’s not worried about Blake. She issued a warning that he takes seriously. “I think Blake is a bit scared of me,” she told the magazine. “He says he’s not, but I’ve said, ‘If you cheat, I’ll spray-paint all of your trophy deer heads pink.’”

Review of the book Stress Point by Sarah Francis Martin

I will start off by saying I did not really enjoy this book at all. I honestly thought it was kind of stupid. I liked maybe a few quotes in the book and that was it.

This book is about being in your 20s and how to handle all the stress in your life but I didn't think it really helped me feel better at all. Another thing I did not like was how the author kept stressing that GOD had a plan for her but that is not true. I am tired of people thinking that GOD has a will for us and we just live it according to his plan. That is not true. GOD does not have a will for us, we live the life the best we can and sometimes unforeseen occurrences happen but GOD does not cause suffering or anything like that. In the scripture Eccl 9:11 it says this: "Time and unforeseen occurence befall them all."  And to prove in a scripture that GOD does not cause suffering see the scripture James 1: 13, which reads " When under trial, let no one say I am being tried by GOD, for with eveil things GOD cannot be tried nor does he himself try anyone." So I am tired of the misconceptions going around of people who claim to know GOD but say false things about him and give GOD a bad name.

I did however like this quote the author says "  I have permission not to stress over the opinions of others; instead I can focus on what GOD thinks of me and where I stand in his eyes."  At the end of the day its how GOD views us and how we live our lives not what other people think. I also liked the quote on page 50. Brittany said ".... It doesn't mean that I don't have room for improvement in any of these areas, but that I am only motivated to make changes by GOD's will and not by the judgement of others." I like this because at the end of the day we do whats best for our-self and for GOD and if people want to judge us when we know we are not doing anything wrong then we will not be hurt by their judgement and just let it pass over us.

I also liked the quote on page 140 which reads from a person named Elle " A low maintenance friend is one who shares and listens and doesn't require constant care."  I really like that definition of a friend.

I will probably end up throwing this book away and not sharing it with everyone but it was a book that for a moment got me sidetracked from my life and I needed that so it wasn't all bad.

John Cena's Wife You Can't Divorce Me ... Yet

John Cena's wife REFUSES to let the wrestler file for divorce -- at least the way he's doing it now -- and to prove she means business, she's asking a judge to throw out the WWE legend's divorce papers.

Elizabeth Cena just filed legal docs in Florida, claiming John's recent divorce petition is riddled with errors ... and should be dismissed.

According to Elizabeth, John inaccurately refers to her by her maiden name (Huberdeau) instead of her legal name (Cena). As a result, Elizabeth says John fails to bring "a proper dissolution of marriage action" against her.

Elizabeth also claims John failed to attach the prenup he references in his initial divorce filing -- a copy of which MUST be attached in order for the filing to be valid.

Elizabeth also takes issues with John's claim that there's no marital property -- Elizabeth insists there is ... and she wants her share.

For all these reasons, Elizabeth wants a judge to dismiss John's petition and force him to re-file ... if he dares.

Calls to John's people were not returned.

Case Against John Travolta From John Doe #2 Not Going To Trial

The sexual assault and battery lawsuit that an Atlanta-based masseur filed against John Travolta will never go to trial because both sides have agreed the case should be heard by a private judge behind closed doors in mediation, RadarOnline.com is exclusively reporting.

The unidentified male masseur, made the blockbuster claims against Travolta, several days after another anonymous man filed a similar lawsuit against the Grease star.

According to the lawsuit, the second victim alleges that while working at an unspecified resort in Atlanta, Georgia on January 28, 2012, he did an in-room massage on Travolta, as the massage came to an end "Travolta suddenly turned on his stomach with his legs wide open with a full erection. He then tried to force Doe Plaintiff No. 2's hand on Travolta's scrotum. Then, Travolta started to grab, rub and caress Doe Plaintiff no. 2's upper thighs and buttocks....Travolta still had an erection and wanted his abdominals done, but Travolta's erection was in the way and he refused to have his penis covered by a sheet of a pillow case cover...Travolta started masturbating about 15 minutes left in the session, and Doe Plaintiff No.2, said he had to go," the docs state. Travolta has vehemently denied the allegations of both lawsuits.

"Marty Singer, and Okorie Okorocha have spoken and both are working on the ground rules for the evidence and procedure about how the mediation will proceed, and that process could take 1-2 months," a source close to the situation tells RadarOnline.com. "This is commonly done before formal mediation begins. Both sides will agree to keep all transcripts sealed, as well as all witness statements, depositions, etc. The lawsuit will be heard by a private judge, who will decide how much money if any the accuser will receive. All of the proceedings will be strictly confidential, but make no mistake, this will be a dog fight, that will take place out of the public forum. This is done for a plethora of reasons, mainly, this will allow the masseur's identity from being made public, and it would just be a media circus if it did go to trial This will be the best way for the case to be heard with minimal disruption to John Travolta and the masseur's life."

The first man that filed a sexual assault lawsuit against Travolta was dropped, by Okorocha Friday. As RadarOnline.com exclusively reported the man admitted he was wrong about the date of the alleged attack.
“Okorocha  did not feel he could represent John Doe #1 going forward anymore and recommend him finding another lawyer,” a source previously told RadarOnline.com.

Mitchell Guist of 'Swamp People' Dies

Mitchell Guist, one of the happy-go-lucky stars of the hit reality TV show "Swamp People," has died.

Guist appeared on the show with his brother, Glenn. Their History Channel biography says: "Swampers through and through, Glenn and Mitchell Guist were born and raised on the bayou and live entirely off the land. These brothers are always up to something, whether it’s hunting for their dinner or making use of everything nature has to offer."

According to Sheriff Mike Waguespack, who spoke to WRBZ Louisiana, Guist was in his boat along the Belle River when he apparently fell. Witnesses say he appeared to have been suffering from a seizure.
"Swamp People" has been a hit for the History Channel. Currently in its third season, the show focuses on the lives of alligator hunters in rural Louisiana. The Guist brothers joined the cast in the second season.

There is no official word yet on Guist's cause of death.  He was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead, according to WAFB. CPR attempts were unsuccessful. There is no word on whether an autopsy will be performed.

News of Guist's death quickly spread. "Swamp People" became a trending term on Twitter. The condolences rolled in on the show's official Facebook page. "Rip Mitch!! So sad :0( Glen is gonna be lost without him," one person wrote. Another posted, "Couldn't help but shed some tears. RIP Mitch."
Guist was a likable fellow. When, during one episode, he was asked about his favorite food, he responded, ”squirrels, rabbits, deers, fish, frogs… I ain’t really picky on food.”

WWE superstar John Cena planted a big, fat kiss on his wife on live TV -- just 2 months before he filed for divorce ... but sources tell TMZ ... behind the scenes, he was a wreck over his marriage for months.

Sources connected to the wrestler tell us ... Cena was not shy about discussing his problems at home while hanging out backstage before WWE events.

We're told Cena complained that his relationship with Liz Huberdeau began to deteriorate shortly after they got married in 2009 ... with the arguing escalating in the past few months ... including spats over the remodeling of their Florida home.

One source tells us John has been "miserable" for the past few months ... despite the ringside PDA with his wife at a WWE event on March 5.

John Cena Files For Divorce

We're saddened to hear that John Cena has filed for divorce in Florida, but on the other hand: if they both aren't happy, moving on is for the best.

Liz has already hired high-powered Miami attorney Raymond Rafool to rep her, and yeah, you know that name! He's the same attorney who Linda Hogan used during her divorce.

We ALL know how that ended for Hulk! In this case, though, Liz apparently signed a prenup in 2009. It ain't pretty, either!

The word is that Liz was blindsided by this divorce, too, admitting to having had issues but never thought it would end. She has even refused to sign things so far.

Jessica Simpson Signs $4M Deal for Post-Baby Body

Following the birth of her first child last week, fashion mogul Jessica Simpson  has signed a $4-million deal with Weight Watchers to drop her baby weight, reports Us Weekly.

 The Weight Watchers deal indicates that the 31-year-old new mom will lose her baby fat before the company features her on their national campaign.

Simpson is also rumored to have a baby clothing line in the works with sister Ashlee, which will add to Jessica’s estimated net worth of $100 million.

Tuesday Jessica tweeted, "I am so in love with baby Maxwell. I want to cry every time I look at her. Motherhood is by far the best thing I've ever experienced."

The "Dukes of Hazard" star and her finacé, former NFL player Eric Johnson, welcomed their 9-pound baby girl, Maxwell Drew Johnson, on May 1.

John Travolta SUED For Assault & Sexual Battery

John Travolta is being sued for assault… AND sexual battery by a masseur!
And this masseur is a MAN!

The story goes that the anonymous masseur was hired for a massage, but John had other plans — mainly that he tried to have sex with him. Among the claims is that John touched his scrotum and penis after stripping down in front of the plaintiff.

The lawsuit goes on to say that John apologized for his behavior, but that didn't stop him. Apparently he (allegedly) continued to bring up the idea of sex and that they should have a three-way with a, "Hollywood starlet in the building that wanted to have three-way sex and to be double penetrated."

The suit even says John admitted that he "got where he is now due to sexual favors he had performed when he was in his Welcome Back, Kotter days."

Afterwards the man asked to be taken back to where he was picked up and received double his fee, which was $800… and is now seeking $2 mil in general damages and court costs!
Here's what John's reps had to say:

"This lawsuit is complete fiction and fabrication. None of the events claimed in the suit ever occurred. The plaintiff, who refuses to give their name, knows that the suit is a baseless lie…On that date when plaintiff claims John met him, John was not in California and it can be proved that he was on the East Coast. Plaintiff's attorney has filed this suit to try and get his 15 minutes of fame. John intends to get this case thrown out and then he will sue the attorney and Plaintiff for malicious prosecution."

I really enjoyed this book. I read it in 2 days because I could not put it down. This is a book about love between two people of Amish faith and how they were trying not to take part in the war and politics of the times.

One similarity between the Amish and Jehovah's witnesses is that we do not go to war. We do not vote, or get into politics. That is because we are to remain neutral in the world until God's Kingdom comes and will take over the earth and make it a better place to live.

 One good scriptures to share along with this view from the bible is Acts 5:28,29 which reads " We positively ordered you not to keep teaching upon the basis of this name and yet look you have filled Jerusalem with your teaching and you are determined to bring the blood of this man upon us. In answer Paul and the other apostles said: 'We must obey God as ruler rather then men.'" When there has been a direct conflict between the commands of human rulers and the requirements of God, true Christians have imitated the example of the apostles by putting obedience to God first.

Another good scripture is John 17:16 which reads " They are no part of the world, just as I( Jesus) am no part of the world.

Christians know to apply the command repeated by Jesus : "You must love your neighbor as yourself." They are convinced that the greatest good they can do for their neighbors is to share with them the good news of God's Kingdom, which will lastingly solve the problems facing mankind and which opens up to those who embrace it the marvelous prospect of eternal life.

Britney Spears and Demi Lovato reportedly headed to 'X Factor,' says E!

Sources tell E! that Britney Spears and Demi Lovato are joining the judges' panel on the "X Factor." Spears, who has been rumored to be in talks with the FOX singing competition show for weeks, is reportedly getting $15 million for a one-year gig. Lovato's salary hasn't been revealed, but it appears she has edged out starlets like Miley Cyrus for the job.

Either way, there has been no official word from Fox just yet.

Khloe And Lamar Set The Record Straight On Their Reality Show

First we heard that Khloe Kardashian and Lamar Odom were canceling their reality show on E! so Lamar could focus on his basketball career, then their rep said the show was NOT cancelled after all!
Finally, we have some clarification because the married couple has decided to speak for themselves. During a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight, Khloe said this:

"Our show is not cancelled. Lamar and I have chosen to take a break this summer. We've been on a whirlwind doing back-to-back shows, and we just want to take a little time off for Lamar to be with family time, kids, basketball, Olympics -- you never know. So, we have a lot on our plate right now."

Lamar, who sources have suggested is the one responsible for bailing on the show, then added:

"The issue at hand is we just want to be happy. We'll take our time and we'll get back to it when it's time."
