Affirmation I found

If I can’t fix everything today, I’ll just fix one thing.

If I can’t help myself, I’ll just help another.

If I can’t lift my hand, I’ll just lift my finger.

If I can’t run, I’ll just walk.

If I don’t know how I’ll go on, I’ll just go on anyway without knowing how.

If I don’t know where I’m going, I’ll just keep going somewhere.

Today, I’ll do something that I think I can’t do, and then I’ll know that I can do something.

I have the world at my fingertip.

Comforting Post From Facebook

I've been crying, safe and loved, but crying out to my God. My prayers shouting to Him exactly what I wanted, what I needed, but they were met with silence.

I couldn’t see Him. I didn’t recognize the work He was doing. And though I couldn’t understand it, He was preparing exactly what I needed, what I was crying for.

If you have found yourself in a season of crying out to God, wondering where He is or what He’s doing, remember that your Father in Heaven loves you more than you can imagine. He’s standing in the next room, listening to your cries, preparing what you need.

You have not been abandoned. You are not alone. Your God is at work. He hears your cries.

“So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.”
(2 Corinthians 4:18, NIV)

New Bible study

Continue to stay close to Jesus and God.Not every one in a while or only on Sundays. How much do we spend with our Shepard. Do I reach out to him only when I need him? We don't want  to unravel when problems show up in our lives. We don't want to have sleepless nights or carry around worry. We want to be aware of the holy spirits  power and presence so we can enjoy God's blessings and joy in every season of my life. The scriptures declare God has prepared blessings for us. What God offers is available to us all the time. All we need to do is stay in his presence.

Encouraging is key

Bible has a lot to teach us about finding joy in the act of sharing it. Thessalonians 5:11 says " Therefore encourage one another and build each other up."

Scripture includes many verses about God, his son and Angels in heaven encouraging us( scriptures Romans 15:5, 2nd Thessalonians 2:16-17, Hebrews 12:1)

God considers encouragement to be a crucial part of life in Christ. Jesus modeled this as he came alongside his disciples, summoned the best in them, built them up.

Article on anxiety

"Anxiety is a normal, predictable part of life,” said Tom Corboy, MFT, the founder and executive director of the OCD Center of Los Angeles, and co-author of the upcoming book The Mindfulness Workbook for OCD.

However, “people with an anxiety disorder are essentially phobic about the feeling state of anxiety.” And they’ll go to great lengths to avoid it.

Some people experience generalized anxiety disorder (GAD), excessive anxiety about real-life concerns, such as money, relationships, health and academics, he said.

Others struggle with society anxiety, and worry about being evaluated or embarrassing themselves, he said. People with obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) might become preoccupied with symmetry or potential contamination, he said.

“The bottom line is that people can experience anxiety, and anxiety disorders, related to just about anything.”

Some people may not struggle with a clinical disorder, but want to manage sporadic (yet intrusive) bouts of anxiety and stress.

Whether you have occasional anxiety or a diagnosable disorder, the good news is that you can take small, effective and straightforward steps every day to manage and minimize your anxiety.

Most of these steps contribute to a healthy and fulfilling life, overall. For instance, “making some basic lifestyle changes can do wonders for someone coping with elevated anxiety,” Corboy said. Below, you’ll find 15 small steps you can take today.

1. Take a deep breath.

“Deep diaphragmatic breathing triggers our relaxation response, switching from our fight-or-flight response of the sympathetic nervous system, to the relaxed, balanced response of our parasympathetic nervous system,” according to Marla Deibler, PsyD, a clinical psychologist, executive director of The Center for Emotional Health of Greater Philadelphia and Psych Central blogger.

She suggested the following exercise, which you can repeat several times: Inhale slowly to a count of four, starting at your belly and then moving into your chest. Gently hold your breath for four counts. Then slowly exhale to four counts.

2. Get active.

“One of the most important things one can do [to cope with anxiety] is to get regular cardiovascular exercise,” Corboy said. For instance, a brisk 30- to 60-minute walk “releases endorphins that lead to a reduction in anxiety.”

You can start today by taking a walk. Or create a list of physical activities that you enjoy, and put them on your schedule for the week. Other options include: running, rowing, rollerblading, hiking, biking, dancing, swimming, surfing, step aerobics, kickboxing and sports such as soccer, tennis and basketball.

3. Sleep well.

Not getting enough sleep can trigger anxiety. If you’re having trouble sleeping, tonight, engage in a relaxing activity before bedtime, such as taking a warm bath, listening to soothing music or taking several deep breaths. (You’ll find more tips here.)

And, if you’re like many people with anxiety whose brains start buzzing right before bed, jot down your worries earlier in the day for 10 to 15 minutes, or try a mental exercise like thinking of fruits with the same letter. (Find more suggestions here.)

4. Challenge an anxious thought.

“We all have moments wherein we unintentionally increase or maintain our own worry by thinking unhelpful thoughts. These thoughts are often unrealistic, inaccurate, or, to some extent, unreasonable,” Deibler said.

Thankfully, we can change these thoughts. The first step is to identify them. Consider how a specific thought affects your feelings and behaviours, Deibler said. Is it helpful or unhelpful?

Unhelpful thoughts usually come in the form of “what ifs,” “all-or-nothing thinking,” or “catastrophizing,” Deibler said. She gave these examples: “What if I make a fool of myself?” “What if I fail this exam?” or “What if this airplane crashes?”

These are the types of thoughts you want to challenge. Deibler suggested asking yourself:

“Is this worry realistic?” “Is this really likely to happen?” “If the worst possible outcome happens, what would be so bad about that?” “Could I handle that?” “What might I do?” “If something bad happens, what might that mean about me?” “Is this really true or does it just seem that way?” “What might I do to prepare for whatever may happen?”

Then, “reframe or correct that thought to make it more accurate, realistic and more adaptive.” Here’s one example: “I would feel embarrassed if I tripped on the stage, but that’s just a feeling; it wouldn’t last forever, and I would get through it.”

5. Say an encouraging statement.

Positive, accurate statements can help to put things into perspective. Deibler gave these examples: “Anxiety is just a feeling, like any other feeling.” and “This feels bad, but I can use some strategies to [cope with] it.”

6. Stay connected to others.

“Social support is vital to managing stress,” Deibler said. Today, call a loved one, schedule a Skype date or go to lunch with a close friend. “Talking with others can do a world of good.” Another option is to get together and engage in an activity that improves your anxiety, such as taking a walk, sitting on the beach or going to a yoga class.

7. Avoid caffeine.

Managing anxiety is as much about what you do as what you don’t do. And there are some substances that exacerbate anxiety. Caffeine is one of those substances. As Corboy said, “The last thing people with anxiety need is a substance that makes them feel more amped up, which is exactly what caffeine does.”

8. Avoid mind-altering substances.

“While drugs and alcohol might help to reduce anxiety in the short term, they often do just the opposite in the long term,” Corboy said. Even the short-term effect can be harmful.

Corboy and his team have treated countless clients whose first panic attack occurred while they were taking drugs such as marijuana, ecstasy or LSD. “Panic attacks are bad enough if you are straight and sober, so imagine how bad they are if you are high, and can’t get un-high until the drug wears off.”

9. Do something you enjoy.

Engaging in enjoyable activities helps to soothe your anxiety. For instance, today, you might take a walk, listen to music or read a book, Deibler said.

10. Take a break.

It’s also helpful to build breaks into your day. As Deibler said, this might be a “simple change of pace or scenery, enjoying a hobby, or switching ‘to-do’ tasks.” “Breaking from concerted effort can be refreshing.”

11. Problem-solve.

Deibler suggested considering how you can address the stressors that are causing your anxiety. Today, make a list of these stressors and next to each one, jot down one or two solutions.

12. Pick up a book.

There are many valuable resources on anxiety, which teach you effective coping skills. Corboy recommended Dying of Embarrassment for people with social anxiety; The BDD Workbook for body dysmorphic disorder; The Imp of the Mind and The OCD Workbook for obsessive-compulsive disorder. Deibler suggested Stop Obsessing for adults with OCD (and Up and Down the Worry Hill for kids with OCD).

For people with panic attacks, she suggested Don’t Panic: Taking Control of Anxiety Attacks. For a general overview of cognitive-behavioral therapy for anxiety, Corboy recommended The Anxiety and Phobia Workbook. He also recommended Get Out of Your Mind and Into Your Life and The Wisdom of No Escape.

(You can find more book recommendations at Corboy’s website.)

13. Engage in calming practices.

According to Corboy, “meditation, yoga, or other calming practices can help minimize anxiety in both the short and long term.” Sign up for a yoga class or watch a yoga video online. (Curvy Yoga is a wonderful resource for yoga for all shapes and sizes.) Meditate right now for just three minutes. (Here’s how.)

14. Contact a therapist.

“Sometimes anxiety can be difficult to manage without professional help,” Deibler said. Many organizations include databases of providers who specialize in anxiety (along with helpful information). She suggested these organizations: www.ocfoundation.org, www.adaa.org and www.abct.org.

15. Accept your anxiety.

“If you really want to effectively manage your anxiety, the key is to accept it,” Corboy said. This might sound counterintuitive. But anxiety, “in and of itself,” isn’t the real problem. Instead, it’s our attempts at controlling and eliminating it, he said. “Not accepting these unwanted inner experiences is the actual source of so much of our self-induced suffering.”

Accepting anxiety doesn’t mean “resign[ing] ourselves to a life of anxious misery. It simply means that we are better off recognizing and fully accepting the existence of anxiety and other uncomfortable emotional states that are inevitable, but transitory,” Corboy said.

So if you experience anxiety today, simply observe it, Deibler said. “Think of it like a wave of the ocean; allow it to come in, experience it, and ride it out.”

Anxiety can feel overwhelming. It can feel like chains around your feet, weighing you down. But by taking small steps – like the ones above – you can minimize your anxiety and cope effectively.

Facts about depression

Depression is quite common with over 16 million adults suffering from it every year. That's 6.7% of Americans. There are countless people out there suffering from it.

One sad fact about depression is only one-third of the number of people suffering from depression actually seek professional treatment. The other set of people that do not bother about treatment believe depression is not a serious illness which they can overcome by themselves. Some other people think it is a kind of body or mental weakness rather than a serious mental illness, so they do not bother seeking treatment and then it gets worse.

Its Not Supposed To Be This Way by Lisa TerKeurst

Cleanse me with hyssop and I will be clean; Wash me, I will be whiter than snow-Psalm 51:7

Hyssop was a paintbrush of Passover, a representation of problems at the hands of others. When we suffer at the hands of others, it's Jesus who rescues us, saves us, defends us, brings restitution. Jesus is with you in every teardrop. He is the solution. He is the answer. He will heal us of all the pain. Tears are precious to the Lord.

You keep track of all my sorrows. You have collected all my tears in your bottle. You have recorded each one in your bottle. -Psalm 56:8

What I learned from the book Point Of View by Elizabeth Hasselbeck

On page 20 it says Isaiah 43:1 which says " fear not , for I have redeemed you; I have called you by your name; you are mine."

On page 54 it says " even in the middle of a desert, in the rough places, he is there. He has gone before me, and he will never let me go. God opened my eyes to see clearly that I am made by him, apart from him I can do nothing, he is my comforter and he is never away from me."

Things I learned from a book called David Limbaugh called Jesus is Risen

On page 56 it says" we should always strive to grow in our Christian walk, seek God in prayer, study his word to plum the unfamathomable depths of his riches."

On page 60 it says " the reason why God didn't rescue Paul from prison as he does Peter, because God arranged for Paul to convert the jailer,he observes, it is beautiful that Paul sings hymns, while Peter sleeps."

On page 64 it said " staying daily in the Word and prayer, seeking to know the heart and wisdom of God and he will bless those efforts."

On page 74 it says " why they are testing God by placing a home on the disciple's necks that they and their ancestors couldn't bear. The yoke he refers to the set of laws and rules they have lived with under and want to preserve. After all their salvation is based on faith in Christ, not works of law."

On page 88 it says " ironically, demons are the first to recognize Jesus's identity during his earthly ministry. While the demons recognize him, they don't place their faith in him. As Jesus proclaimed but if it's by the finger of God that I cast you out demons, then the kingdom of God has come upon you"

Things I learned from a Bible study

This all came from a group on Facebook called Lord I Want To Know You.

When they plotted to take Jesus's life and arrest Jesus they never dreamed they were laying hands on the sin of Jehovah. He had on hand a disposal of 12 thousand legions of Angels. When blood and water poured forth , it was the blood of Jesus and Jehovah, it healed people.

If you come to the end of your strength and need deliverence, seek refuge in Jehovah. We have inadequate resources without Jehovah. He judges us and delivers us in his name and is feared upon the Nations.

When the hour is dark and a situation is desperate we long for God's peace. We crave it, our sanity depends on it. Fear grips us. We grope through the darkness. We long for peace. Jehovah reassures us that it will be all right. Jehovah will keep you in perfect peace when you keep your mind on him. When under the banner of God, victory is assured. Apart from it, defeat is certain. You can't do battle against the flesh under your own power. Wether illness is physical, emotional or spiritual, seek first healing from Jehovah.

Inspiring Scriptures

Though the mountain may crumble, you will not. Isaiah 54:10

And by Jesus only speaking a word of healing over them, they were totally set free from there torment and everyone who was sick, received their healing. He put upon himself our weaknesses and he calmed our diseases and made us well.

A good book

Quote from the book Girl, Stop Apologizing by Rachel Hollis

" You do not need anyone's permission to be yourself, and you do not need to conform and twist and rebrand your goal to make it more palatable for them. You don't need to present yourself in a certain light to be loved and accepted. The people who deserve to be in your life will care about who you are-the real you-actually are, even if it takes some getting used to. Even if you're different from every other woman they know. Even if you're different from the woman they fell in love with."

Review Of The Book Behind The Laughter By Anthony Griffith

I will admit this book was very boring and I almost gave up on it. He is a comedian who is married and loses his little girl to cancer. He starts questioning God and ends up with MS as well which deteriorated his health and had his wife end up becoming his caretaker.

On page 111 he says" If I could go back in time...it would be there will be times when you will be angry or sad and it's ok to feel everything that you're feeling right now. There's nothing wrong or bad about it. You're in mourning. ...You are broken. You've had tramua. Everyone needs a sounding board or someone to understand them. As Brigitte likes to say, you have to take care of yourself. If that means therapy, taking time out, getting away from everyone, then do it. "

On page 133 it says " You are depressed. You don't hear the birds chirping, you don't smell the roses. But you go about life. We were just going through the motions. You do this, you do that, but there was no joy. "

On page 177 he says " Grieving doesn't have a time limit. It doesn't have an expiration date. Tomorrow is not promised, you must love and enjoy every day. In the Bible when king David lost his son, he said can I bring him back?. Life is cruel some times. It's okay to have whatever emotion you have when you lose someone. If you want to cry, if you want to get mad, if you want to shout out, God's shoulders are big enough. It's ok. He still has you."

On page 197 he says," You can go through the stages of loss. You have anger, depression and you can work on depression. You can be depressed...and still function, still make people laugh, still go through life..."

Review Of The Book More Than You Can Handle by Nate Pyle

This book encourages us how to stay strong when we feel doubt and down in our life. The author felt like that sometimes and shares what we learned with us.

Someone wrote on the barracks wall of Auschwitz this " There is Grace, though and wander , on the way, Only they are hard to see, hard to embrace, for those compelled to wander in the darkness". This is a book about finding God and Grace as we wander in a darkness that is more than we can handle. It's about the moments when we're so overwhelmed that we wander direction less towards unknown destinations. It's about those times when we wonder if the God who promises to guide us had run far ahead and left us behind to stumble in the darkness on our own.

On page 26 it says " Your pain is real. Your suffering is legitimate. What you are facing is more than you can handle. " On page 35 it says " Paul- the one who was shipwrecked for the sake of the Gospel, whose faith was so strong that people were healed when they touched rags he used to wipe his brow, who converted guards while in jail, who brazeingly stood before rulers and confessed Jesus as Lord, said he despaired of life. He didn't just have a bad day. The pain was too great. He wanted to give up. He considered abandoning everything because it no longer seemed worth the struggle.  It is when we are at our frailest that Christ's power can rest on us. When we can no longer keep going. When we're empty. Confused. Exhausted. "

On page 75 it says " Suffering is a reality whenever our ability to flourish is stolen from us.  There is an unspoken pressure to dance, smile, and thank God for his faithfulness. This is what good Christians do, isn't it?

On page 89 he asks" Why was the temptation to be like God so compelling to Eve? Is it because the anxiety and fear of not knowing what tomorrow would bring subtly gnawed at her just before she fell asleep. "

On page 132 it says " What kind of God demands that action as a test of faith? What kind of God forces the the choices between the God who promised you an unimaginable legacy or the son you prayed for. Even if it was all a simple test, it is cruel in the highest sense."

On page 167 it says " the one young child too light to quickly expedite his own death hung at the end of the rope for a hellish amount of time. He remained for more than a half an hour , lingering between life and death. We were forced to look at him at close range. For God's sake, where is God? "

On page 179 it says " God doesn't doesn't just offer a cure. God brings wholeness. Jesus didn't stop Peter from disowning him, but he did restore him. Jesus didn't end Mary's pain as she watched her son die, but he did see that was cared for. " On page 189 it says " our heavenly father adopts us as sons and daughters, and he wraps his robe around iur shoulders ."

Bible Study From KingdomNomics

Often in our haste to do things or do ministry we forgot to pray for God's blessing and direction. The power to change the power to overcome sin, and the power to defeat the evil one is sacred in Almighty God. We are told to boldy come to the throne of Grace to receive mercy and find help in the time of need. Prayer is a key ingredient to spiritual success.

Bible Study From Framemedia.com

In scripture we find a great example of a  psalmist who finds himself down and depressed and puts questions. Why, my soul, are you downcast? Why so disturbed in me? Put your hope in God, for I will praise Him, my Savior and my God. My soul is downcast within me. The psalmist reminds himself to put hope in God and to praise Him. He declares to himself, God is your Savior, remember who he really is.

When we take the time to untangle what may seem like a ball of emotions, the simple solution is to trust in the Lord. Pause, reflect, reframe. Find a verse or scripture that typically helps you and remind yourself that your love is in God. It is for freedom that Christ sets us free. Stand firm, then do not let yourselves be burdened by a yoke of slavery( Galatians 5:1)

Bible Study From KingdomNomics

I will go in the strengh of the Lord God. I will make mention of your righteousness of yours only( Psalms 71:16 NKJV)

As we navigate our way through this world, we need to remember that we are here vessels. We are carrying precious cargo, the message of Christ to declare to a lost and dying world. Our mission is to proclaim his story, not our own story.

Only by the strength of Christ can we hope to live a Christian Life in a credible way.  The righteousness of God saves us and gives us right standing with God. This is why the psalmist said he would go into his everyday life in the strength of the Lord and in God's righteousness.

God gives each of us a platform for proclaiming his message of salvation. But we must be careful to proclaim him, and not ourselves. Our resources are to be used for proclaiming his message, to bring glory to him.

Another Bible Study From It's Not Supposed To Be This Way by Lysa Terkeurst

Our comfort is not meant to be dependent on what Jesus will do in our situation but simply because he is there. Take the account found in Matthew 8. The disciple's we're with Jesus on a boat when a fierce storm erupted. The boat was being tossed from side to side. The disciple's we're scared. But Jesus slept through it all. When they woke him in there fear, his first response was to ask why why are you so afraid? We learn they had nothing to fear. He was saying trust me, I'm here, we got this.

Review Of The Book When Faith Fails by Dominic Done

On page 9 it says " This big God created us. An incomprehensible infinite God created something. Like an artist standing before a canvas, he splashed boundless layers of color, life, beauty, fire, water, earth-and our world was born. Seven times in the creation story, God called his world good. He made the mountains, rivers and seas...joy, beauty, virtue, flourishing, harmony-are all enveloped in this ancient understanding of goodness. When God spoke, the universe was vibrant and alive, humming with his presence..
"

On page 14 it says " God didn't create Adam and Eve with all the answers to life's hardest questions. He allowed a space for them to explore, question and learn. He cultivated a garden in which mystery could coexist alongside faith. That means when we doubt, God isn't disappointed with us, he understands. Doubt is a natural response to the limitations of our knowledge."

On page 29 it says" I see Jesus in every human being. I say to myself , this is hungry Jesus, I must feed him. This is sick Jesus. This one has leprosy or gangrene; I must wash and tend to him. I serve better because I love Jesus."

On page 40 it says " Psalms of disorientation. These songs came out of a place of unexpected disruption, when anger, despair, suffering and tragedy eclipsed the authors faith in God. In Psalm 130 says out of the depths I cry to you. I needed from God was no more directions and maps but closeness, intimacy, and a relationship. He reached out his hand and said follow me. And when I took his hand, things began to change. Personally I chose to trust God. And I'm doing my best to follow the way of Jesus. It's often hard, unsettling, and confusing, but it's also mesmerizing, breathtaking, and full of joy. Two men looked out from prison bars. One saw mud, the other saw stars. "

On page 81 it says " the Bible is honest about the human story. It's awkward, messy and weird. Why? Because that's what people do. People are awkward messy and weird. So, of course there is scandal, adultery, sexism, violence and war. The Bible is true to life. It doesn't gloss over our imperfections. It confronts us in the mud and mess of life. It's about people with real issues, insecurities, weakness's and flaws. "

Many stories about doubt in the Bible. Abraham and Sarah doubted God's promises, Gideon doubted his calling. Job doubted God's character. John the Baptist , who Jesus called the greatest of all the prophets, doubted Jesus was the Messiah. Peter doubted his faith. Thomas doubted the resurrection. It's doubts are it's authors. They were bewildered, perplexed, and often unsure. Yet, they figured out a way to flourish in the tension of an imperfect faith. And God was okay with that. Not only okay, but he gave them the biggest platform the world has ever known. If you are doubting the Bible, the best thing you can do is read the Bible. It gives your doubts a place of belonging. It articulates your struggle.far from being preached at, you'll join myraid sourjourners who have been in your shoes. They know what it's like. They've experienced times when the sun went dark. Their feet have slipped too. But somehow they kept believing. "

On page 119 it says " sometimes the only appropriate response to suffering is boundless brief. Lament is the cry of a heart that is shattered, raw, and largely unhealed. David screamed how long Lord? Jeremiah overwhelmed by the opression he witnessed , implored God to intervene. Job despaired. Jacob wrestled. Moses challenged . Abraham doubted. Mary questioned. Jesus wept. God still runs to us, and weeps with us there. . "

On page 130 it says" if he promised that he would never leave me or forsaken me, why am I so lonely. I read the Bible and see stories of God speaking to his people. Why doesn't he do that for me? When I pray, it's like my words fall o deaf ears. Where are you God? I'd God disappointed in me? Have I done something wrong,? Why is he holding me back?. "

Be still and then you will know God. The only way I can hear the whisper of God is if I silence the noise around me and within me on page 137.: On page 152 it says " deep faith is an intimate , tenacious, all of life, sweaty, bloody, sometimes clumsy, and always real encounter with God . It means taking in a your fears, sins, and insecurities and doubts and going head to head with God. You'll probably be get bruised, broken and list your swag. But it's better to be an authentic mess before God than a fake religious person. Faith means going all in. You'll be transformed because you've wrestled with God . You've encountered him in new and intimate ways. Your not the same person that you used to be. You've died and come alive. And now you only want more of him" page 161."

On page 174 it says " when the ancient Chinese cracked a valuable dish or jar , rather than throw it away, they adorn it with a gold leaf. This wasn't done to hide the break but draw attention to it. We're not going to pretend the brokenness doesn't exist. Instead were going to own it, share it, and turn it into something beautiful.  Someone called out to Jesus Lord, I believe. Help my unbelief. Jesus heard him. He didn't send him away, lecture him for his less than perfect faith. He answered his prayers, stepped into the brokenness and healed hid troubled son."

Review Of The Book The Theft Of America's Soul by Phil Robertson

On page 29 he says " The entertainment industry mocks religion and celebrates perversity. Universities teach the death of God and Satan with scientific precision. Physicians and psychologists tell us that when we die, the lights go out forever. When you remove Christ from the public square, from courthouses and schools, when you bar truth from it's institutions , should it come as a surprise that the devil steps in to fill the void. "

On page 45 it says " When God is dead, so is his divine truth. And without divine truth, without truth to govern our human conduct, we fall for the devil's lie. Living in that lie, men and women become the worst version of themselves... Devil convinced us there's no absolute moral for sexuality ( which the Bible confines to the marital bed),. There's no absolute truth when life begins ( which the Bible says begins before the first cells are knit in the womb.) There's no absolute truth about the definition of marriage ( which the Bible indicates as being between one man and one woman, til death do they part.)

On page 64 it says " What is the purpose of all this life that the Almighty created for us? Why did he give us plants and animals to subdue for our own provision? The answer is simple.: God wanted us to understand his goodness. "

On page 70 it says" Recognize the beauty in the life of a fellow man. Remember that his blood ain't yours to take, wether the blood of an unborn baby or elderly woman minding her business in a Texas church. Choose life. And when you do, watch as God saved your soul. And then give thanks."

On page 76 it says " When we ignore the God  of the universe and Chase our own desires, we fall under the illusion of the evil one. Common sense seems illogical. And in this delusion we become blind to the truth of God."

On page 79 it says " Even their women exchanged natural sexual relations for unnatural ones. In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and we're inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed shameful acts with other men,and received in themselves the due penalty for their error. (Romans 1:26-27)"

On page 85 it says " it's no secret that I've taken fire over my beliefs and hatred for reporting what the scripture says. I don't hate anyone whose mired in what the Bible calls sin. In fact, I love them. If I truly hated them, I wouldn't share the truth with them"

On page 100 it says " Suppose a Nation in some distant region shoul e the Bible for their only law books...to justice and kindness and charity toward his fellow men...what a paradise would this region be... Adams believed that if our country relied on scriptures... We'd be more sober, frugal, hard-working, law-abiding,kind, generous, reverent, and loving people. Doesn't that sound like the country you want to live in? It sounds like the closets thing to heaven we could experience this side of death if you ask me."

On page 125 it says " The courts have declared it is unconstitutional for teachers and principals to lead Christian prayer in public school. We've certainly seen a rise in violence, drug use,and mass shootings in public schools since the 1960s and '70s...The supreme Court has declared that judges and courthouses cannot publicly display the 10 commandments. An especially  odd decision since a likeness of Moses carrying the 10 commandments is displayed on the frieze in the supreme Court building. Could there be any better place to display the 10 commandments than the very courthouses where a criminal will be tried and convicted for lying, stealing or killing? I don't think so."

On page 127 it says " Wether a Christian Baker has the right to refuse service  to a same sex couple getting married. I don't hate any member of the gay community. In fact, I love them, and want them to know the truth of God's word, how it might set them free. So, though, I would bake the cake for the couple, I wouldn't write anything on it that would make me compromise the truth of God's law-the marriage is between a man and a woman. And if the couple asked why, I'd tell them it's because it's the law of God which is unchanging..."

Review Of The Book Beyond Belief by Susan Tive and Cami Ostman

On page 44 it says " Why would heavenly father make eternal salvation dependent on a few sentences and a dip in a hot tub? Can't he just look in our hearts and know?

On page 58 the rabbi said " A woman's voice is a precious jewel, of course a jewel shouldn't be flashed around. A jewel should be kept in a safe and treasured place. That is why women are not to sing in public."

On page 63 it says " were we really like the cursed children of Cain, destined to be slaves because God made it so? And if he really loved us, how were we, his children, Allowed to suffer so much?

On page 76 it says " Jesus claimed to know the truth.the way, and the life, so I wanted to know him-to sit at his feet and drink him in, his words, his ways, everything. "

On page 143 it says " I can't believe that a child would be better off with a mother committing suicide than she would be in daycare... Of course he would be better and safer in daycare than with a mother in the home with severe mental illness"

On page 199 it says" I just cannot imagine a God who wouldn't admit to heaven a Loatian, a Tibetan, an African who never heard the won Christian? How can an all knowing, just God sent eternal life to someone just because he was unlucky enough to be born in a pagan country? I can't see God that way...it's just...to mean"

On page 241 " Religion wasn't worth it if solitude, divorce, and decimated self worth were the fruits of trying see so hard to do the right thing"

On page 246 it says " my mother, like all Jehovah's witnesses, saw persecution as proof that we were special and beloved by the one true master."

On page 249 " I continued to go to the meetings and out in service every weekend. I conducted Bible studies with people of good faithwho were hungry for the truth. Yet I knew in my heart I was starving. I was living an inauthentic life, taking no pride at all separating the sheep from the goats. Like a racehorse at the starting date, I felt pumped to run, snorting at the sight of the track, waiting for the Bell to ring and the gate to open to a much mider world."

Bible Study Number 5

This is from the book It's Not Supposed To Be This Way by Lysa Terkeurst

Let us run with perserverance the race marked out for us fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfector of faith (Hebrews 12: 1b-2a NIV)

What do you need to turn your eyes away from in order to fix our eyes on Jesus and run the race? We don't have to know the way or make the way ourselves. We have the author to follow. The only one who knows our story from beginning to end, and whose gone before us to prepare the way.

Bible Study From KingdomNomics

Jesus has alot to say about money and the dangers associated with it. Money is dangerous. It can be so decietful. Excessive worrying about money is one mask that can hinder us from developing our relationship with God. Another mask may be an unhealthy desire for money, an assumption that we'll be more satisfied if we have alot of money. If it controls us, we make it an idol. We must control money, use it in our service to God.

Review Of The Book Depression In Later Life by Deborah Serani

Some risk factors of depression are fear of death, female, lack of a supportive social network, living alone, social isolation, mutiple medications, mutiple physical illnesses, neurological illness, recent fall or injury, recent loss of a loved one, single, unmarried, divorced or widowed, sleep disturbance, stressful life event, untrated subclinical depression.

Some people have weight gain from the depressive symptoms of overeating and decreased activity. Suicide is a significant risk for anyone with a mental illness
Over 3,000 people die each day by suicide. Every 40 seconds someone dies from suicide.  Falls should never be considered a normal part of aging. Depression is a very real illness that effects the emotional, social, behavioral, physical health of a person. The word health organization has stated that depression is a global crisis. Approximately 7 million older meet the criteria for a depressive disorder. A serious mental illness cannot be willed away or brushed aside with a change in attitude. Ignoring the problem doesn't give it the slip either. Depression is a serious but treatable illness with success rates of upward of 80 percent for those who seek treatment. Talking about depression reduces symptoms. This is the whole goal of talk therapy, to talk about your experiences, thoughts and concerns. People with depression can live, full productive lives.

Bible Study

This again comes from the book It's Not Supposed To Be This Way by Lysa Terkeurst.

Don't be afraid to light up the darkness with the voice whose been there, whose maybe still fighting her way through. Show others that they are not alone, that you too, know what it's like to work through the fire.

When we view the pain we feel during the process as God's way of preparing us for his promise, it changes things. Not as much as we'd like to push the fast forward button, rushing the process to relieve ourselves from the pain can actually cause more harm than good. If we try to numb our pain, or if God gave us the relief we desired before we were ready, we'd miss out in the process of being molded, prepared and strengthes for what's ahead, we'd be robbed of complieteness.

God says I am the way and truth and the life(John 14:6), I am forever faithful ( Psalms 146:6) , I am with you (Isaiah 41:10), I am holding you(Psalms 73:23) , I am your hiding place (Psalms 32:7)

Review Of Book Costly Grace by Rob Schenck

I really enjoyed this book. I read it in 3 days. On page 54 says " Most people think of ministers as faith filled and dutifully obedient, no matter their circumstances , but that wasn't my experience, nor would it be for most of the men of God I would come to know. We all have breaking points, and clergy are no exception. Like Moses, who lost his temper over the rebellious Israelites and smote the rock, rather than speak to it as God had instructed, I would lose my patience more than once, sinning in the process. One well known evangelist friend who landed in the hospital due to exhaustion recounted to me how he lay in bed moaning why God? Why? I'm doing everything you told me to do. Then he heard a voice from heaven thunder my servant, you're full of shit. It was his rather unconventional way of describing both his moment of reckoning and his irreverent humanity."

On page 70 it says " Evangelists had played a role in getting Reagan elected, and we were determined to flex that newfound muscle by demanding our politicians pay attention to our dislike of homosexual rights, women's rights, and smutty lyrics and urging them to bring back prayer back to public Schools and morality back into the public conversation."

On page 95 it says " I began to see the property life movement as a battle of civil rights. Something deeply, morally wrong was taking place right in front of us, and we could not be among those good people who my father had warned did nothing when the Nazis we're exterminating our people the Jews."

On page 97 it says " I came quickly to know that by 10 or 11 weeks of gestation, all ten fingers and toes of a fetus we're formed, and the face was clearly human. Sonograms we're grainy and rough then, but there were plenty of photos, including in utero ones that showed childlike forms with cherubic faces and tuff's of hair, some even sucking their thumbs. I also came to see the Bible clearly condemned this, affirming the child in the womb as a full member of the human family. God told the prophet Jeremiah before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you. There was no nuisance here, no relative meaning, no justification. Abortion was wrong in each and every instance. "

On page  126 it says " I spoke about the sanctity and inherent values of every human life, including the most fragile and vulnerable of God's creatures in the womb. I compared our times to biblical days when Molech was the false idol to which humans were sacrifices. We too worship false God, the false God's of selfishness, zyzal of financial security, of a better life, and we are offering our children as human sacrifices on that idols altar. That is an abomination in the eyes  of God. " On page 130 it says " Present Clinton prohibiting discrimination against homosexuals in the military. It was a policy signaled an unleashing of sodomy and perversion in the unlikeliest of places, the armed services. "

On page 213 it says " President Bush said the right to life cannot be granted or decreed by government, Because it does not come from the government, it comes from the creator of life. " On page 275 it says " A scenario in which someone walks into a crowded church, pulls out a gun, threatening to take our the whole congregation. If there was not someone else with a weapon, it would be a mass homicide, Because the only thing that stops a bad guy is a good guy with a gun." On page 252 it says" Grace is costly Because it was costly to God, because it cost God the life of God's son. "

Third Bible Study

This is from the book It's Not Supposed To Be This Way by Lysa Terkeurst

We have an author, and it's none other than God himself. creator of the universe AND each of us. Our author has alot to say about who and what we are. It's when we don't know and believe the truth, we begin to fall prey to the opinions of others. Allow ourselves to be covered in labels that don't actually fit such as you aren't worth it, you aren't accepted, you aren't pretty enough. We must let God's word become the words of our story. God's words , the Bible, contains truth of who we are. God will be with us always, to the very end. The world may say we'll never amount to anything, but God says we are his handiwork, created to do God's good works. The world may say we're not worth it, but God says we are SO worth it.He sent his son Jesus to die on a cross so we could be made right with him and spend all eternity with him.

Some Fascinating Facts About Coke

This came from the book Citizen Coke by Bartow Elmore

Coke- cola was the world's most valuable brand in 2012. It was selling more than 1.8 billion beverage servings per day ( one serving for every four people on Earth. It was the twenty-second - most profitable company in the United States, with revenues topping$48 billion and net income over 9 billion, making it one of the greatest profit-generating businesses in world history.

Coke never really owned the name coca-cola. The first half of Coca-Cola's moniker was merely appropriated from the ancient language of the Quechua people of South America. Over 5,000 years ago , those Peruvian Highlanders first coined the term coca to describe a shrub that grew along the steep, verdant slopes of the Andes. The Quechua became attached to this plant because they found that chewing it's leaves kept them energized through out the day. Coca leaf contained small quantities of cocaine, an alkaloid later identified in the pharmacological world as triple reuptake inhibitor, which meant it prevented the human body from storing important transmitters that regulate blood flow and mood states. The result was that the Andeans felt more alert and invigorated over longer periods of time while consuming coca leaves.

Between 1943 and 1954, Coke had spent$46.4 million on caffeine. It doubled it's annual consumption of the drug , consuming well over a million pounds per year by 1955. With the military paving the way, Coke's oversees sales exploded. The company sold over 10 billion bottles of it's soft drink to Us soldiers between 1941 and 1945.

A great Christian video to watch

Source: Christians preaching salvation

I joined a women's Bible study

The book is called It's not supposed to be this way by Lysa Terkeurst.

In week one we learn some scriptures. In Ephesians 6:10-20 which says " Finally be empowered in the Lord and in the might of his strength. Put on the whole armor of God that you may be able to stand against the devil. Our wrestling is the world rulers of the darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavens. Therefore take the whole armor of God that you may be able to withstand in the evil day and having done all to stand. Stand therefore having girded your loins with truth and having put on the breastplate of righteousness. Having shod your feet with the firm foundation of the gospel of peace. Besides all these, having taken up the sheild of faith, with which you will be able to quench all the flaming darts of the evil one..."

In Romans 8: 37-38 says " But in all these things we more than conquer through Him who loved us. For I am persuaded that neither death not life nor angels not principalities not things present not things to come not powers. Nor height not depth not any other creature will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord."

In week two we learned we can be victimized into thinking we'll be forever live in the depths of despair or remain locked in our prison of fear and anxiety. We are decieved into believing we're a failure. We need to surrender all hope that God is able to change our seemingly, hopeless circumstances.

She paraphrased some scriptures I am chosen (Jeremiah) I am forgiven (Acts) I am reedemed (Psalms) I am beautiful (Psalms) I am created with a purpose (Jeremiah). No longer will Satan, the one Jesus calls the father lies, hold our hearts and minds captive with his lies.

Review of the book Still In The Game by Devon Still

This book is about a football player whose daughter gets cancer and turns to God for help.

I like the quote on page vii which says " Life has a way of bringing you to your knees. At some point or another, no matter how strong you are, no matter how in control you are, you will drop to the ground and pray. And pray hard." The quote I like on page 156 says " I learned in that church if you want to feel God's presence, just ask for it. I started bawling and calling out loud why God? Why? Are you here with me God? Do you hear me? Let me know you are here!"

On page 187 it says " in God, whose words I praise- in God I trust and am not afraid(psalm 56:4)" . On page 192 it says " We know that all things work together for good for those who love God( Romans 8: 28)" On page 197 says " God has a plan. We can't always see the plan, but it's there. Whatever you're going through is preparing you for something else. Something bigger. Something you probably can't even imagine. You just have to pay attention. Learn the lesson. Stay in the game. Don't give up. Keep going. And someday, someday, if you stick it out, all that stuff that didn't make sense is gonna make some sense. It's gonna pay off. It's gonna add up to something. I knew, I would continue to know from that moment forward, that whatever new struggles might come my way, whatever challenge's or obstacles might appear in my life, they were just preparing me for a future that God has in store for me. Knowing that everything we do in life is about learning, growing, gaining strength, preparing for a path we can't see but that God is laying out for us, just knowing that somehow makes the task of facing life's struggles that much easier. Faith in God doesn't make the struggles go away. The obstacles in life don't magically disappear because you pray. But the fear of those struggles? The terror of believing that each new obstacle is somehow gonna be the end of you. That goes away. That makes you stronger. And that is powerful."

On page 226 it says" when something is wrong, it's never shameful to stop and ask for help. You cannot heal what you're not willing to face."on page 233 it says " I'm not sure what life will hold for us all next, but I know there will be more challenges ahead. That's life. I still believe the struggle makes me stronger, and somehow it's all part of God's Bigger plan."

Some Bible Quotes I liked

All you do is read the first 4 chapters of the Bible and you find out evolution is a lie(Gen 1:1) there are only two genders (Gen 2:24), A marriage is between a man and a woman (Gen2:24) and all religions don't lead to God(Gen 4 :3-7). Found these facts on Facebook

I like the Quotes from the article Honor And It's Decline by George Grant. On page 10 it says" It is important to remember that any attempt to surrendering truth into separate upper and lower categories is merely a pretext for unbelief. The decline and fall of honor in our day is not the second or third order consequence of the new fundamentalist dogma's of our abortion affirming LGBTQ or post modern soothsayers. Instead it's unbelief in the unchanging standard's of an unchanging God that has precipipated this catastrophic domino effect across the terrain of our culture."

I like the Quotes from the Gospel Truth by Andrew Wommack. On page 3 it says " If we don't stand for what the Bible has to say, the unbelievers- who don't have a biblical worldview- are going to be the ones establishing all the policies, determing what we can can and can't say. You still hold viewpoints that are completely opposite to what the word says. If you're going to be a disciple of Jesus you can't only observe the parts you like. If your attitude your doctrine or your worldview doesn't line up with the word of God you need to change it, not change the word of God. You may hold unbiblical views on the origin of creation or abortion. You cannot continue to do this and then call yourself a disciple."

A great find from Facebook
