Vince Vaughn and Reese Witherspoon are in final negotiations to star in the romantic comedy Four Christmases.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, Vaughn, 37, and Witherspoon, 31, will play a couple who struggle to visit all four of their divorced parents’ homes during the Christmas holidays. Vaughn and Witherspoon would also co-produce the New Line Cinema film, which is slated for a 2008 release.
Meanwhile, the two single actors already know they have chemistry. The pair had a flirtatious two-hour long meeting about the film at The Polo Lounge in Beverly Hills on June 29. The meeting quickly turned into a laugh riot as the two shared stories amid bursts of one-upmanship. When the $20 check arrived, Witherspoon teased, “I’m not sure you can swing it.” Ever the gentleman, Vaughn (who recently opened L.A. offices for his production company), refused to let her pay.
