JLo's grandmother passed away

Jennifer Lopez's beloved grandmother, Julia Rodriguez, who inspired the singer to open a restaurant in her honor, has died.

J.Lo's maternal grandma died Saturday as her famous granddaughter was performing a concert in Los Angeles.

The 38-year-old Latina songstress, who is reportedly pregnant, was apparently mourning with her relatives yesterday.

"Jennifer is with her family right now," said Lopez's spokeswoman, Leslie Sloane-Zelnick, who declined further comment.

Beecher Funeral Home in Pleasantville, Westchester County, which is handling the arrangements, confirmed Rodriguez's death. A spokeswoman declined to release further details.

A memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. today at the Holy Cross Church in the Bronx.

In 2002, J.Lo opened Madre's restaurant in Pasadena, Calif., to serve her favorite Latin dishes that her grandmother prepared whenever she visited her in the Bronx.

Rodriguez is survived by two daughters, J.Lo's mother, Guadalupe Lopez, and Rose Myrza. She is also survived by six grandchildren, including J.Lo and Channel 9 News anchor Lynda Lopez; and two great-grandchildren.
