Sammi Kane Kraft, the real-life baseball player who took on Tatum O'Neal's role in the 2005 remake of Bad News Bears, has died.
The 20-year-old lost her life in an early morning collision on Thursday along El Lay's 10 Freeway.
She was riding shotgun when her friend crashed an Audi into a tractor
trailer while "traveling at a high rate of speed" and then got hit by
another car as a result.
21-year-old Molly Kate Adams was only treated for
moderate injuries, but Kraft was not so lucky and was pronounced dead at
Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. Authorities suspect alcohol so Adams has been arrested for felony drunk driving.
