Britney Spears Gets Restraining Order From Ex, Former Manager

Lawyers for Britney Spears went to L.A. Superior Court Friday to seek restraining orders against her former manager, Sam Lutfi, and ex, Adnan Ghalib, court papers show.

The singer, 27, is currently under the permanent conservatorship of her father, Jamie. (A lawyer, Andrew Wallet, is co-conservator of her estate as well.) A source told TMZ.com — which first reported the news — that Spears asked her conservators to “protect her from Sam and Adnan” because she’s afraid of them.

Spears hoped Lutfi, who served as her manager for a period in 2007 and early 2008, and Ghalib, a paparazzo she dated for about three months last winter, would be sent to jail, TMZ.com reports.

The court filings show that Spears’ conservators believe Lutfi and Ghalib were trying to gain control of the singer’s affairs. Jon Eardley — a lawyer Lutfi hired last year who was unsuccessful in arguing that Spears’ conservatorship was unconstitutional — was also named in the court injunction.

“On the first anniversary of the establishment of the conservatorship, the co-conservators are informed and believe that these three figures are working in concert to disrupt the conservatorship, with an utter disregard for Ms. Spears’ health and well being,” the documents say.

The temporary restraining order forbids Ghalib, Lutfi and Eardley from contacting Spears, her parents and sons, Sean Preston, 3, and Jayden James, 2.

The court documents show that Lutfi had been trying to contact Spears through her hairdresser and one of her father’s lawyers. Lutfi is also being accused of sending “anonymous, harassing and threatening” messages to Jamie.

Jamie also alleges in the papers that his daughter still tells Ghalib of her whereabouts “and that he then arranges for paparazzi to meet and film her to his financial benefit.”

A hearing is set for Feb. 23.

Spears let a temporary restraining order against Lutfi expire in July.

“Britney has made clear to everyone that she does not want to be further harassed or contacted in any way by Osama ‘Sam’ Lutfi, now or at any time in the future,” Spears’ court-appointed attorney, Samuel D. Ingham III, told the AP then. Lutfi also released a statement: “Mr. Lutfi and Mr. Spears have mutually agreed in private that no hearing or order is necessary at this time.”

Spears’ original restraining order against Lutfi, filed in February 2008, accused him of drugging her, cutting off her home phone line and interfering with medical treatment.

A source told Us in late 2007 that Spears’ parents were “frightened…they know she is being taken advantage of” by Lutfi.

Ghalib and Spears hooked up in 2008 around the time she was hospitalized twice for mental health issues. A source told Us in November that she penned song “Mmm Papi,” on her platinum album Circus, about him.
