Country power couple Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert aren’t daunted in their marriage, even when the peskiest of divorce rumors
surface in the tabloids. You see, the couple has an open book policy in
their marriage, and that honesty leaves no room for doubt or distrust.
Shelton opens up in his new cover issue of People,
explaining that there are no secrets between him and his wife. ”[I tell
Miranda], ‘I have nothing to hide from you,’” he admits. In fact, the
‘Sure Be Cool if You Did’ hitmaker spills that his key to making their
marriage work is access to his telephone.
“That’s always been our policy,” he shares, adding that he tells her, “‘Here’s my phone. Go through it.’”
“That’s really the kind of trust we have,” Shelton continues. “There
are no secrets. [I'll say,] ‘Go dig through my drawers or my computer if
you feel like you need to.’ And that’s been a really good thing,
because I don’t want her to ever have any doubts.”
The couple’s emotional performance
of ‘Over You’ on ‘The Voice’ recently was a clear sign that the
Shelton-Lambert household is built on solid ground — they have a mutual
respect and love for each other.
Shelton, an Oklahoma native, teamed up with his wife on Wednesday for
the ‘Healing in the Heartland’ special. The show, which was his
brainchild, raised money for victims of the recent Moore, Okla. tornado.
